Regina & Sven contacted me to photograph their charming elopement at a Lodge on Loch Lomond.
These two came all the way from Germany to the bonnie, bonnie banks to tie the knot at the Lodge on Loch Lomond.
Elopements are great – especailly when the couple are foreign. The suppliers nearly outnumbered the wedding party! I always think thats hilarious.
My German is pretty poor (Non existent).Thankfully these two have perfect english and understand my Glasgow accent nae bother.
The lovely Mauren Kettle from Humanist Society Scotland took the Ceremony and on the pipes, the equally lovely Drew from Thistle Piping.
The ceremony beautifully recounted their love story and culminated in heartfelt vows they exchanged with each other. Tears were shed and the skys opened too! So we quickly dashed inside for the quaich and all the legal bits.
After completing the formalities, we set off for Firkin Point to capture epic and truly Scottish elopement photos. Whilst on the shoot a bee/wasp/insect stung me for the first time in my life! Couldn’t believe it.
Wasps aside, these two were brilliant to photograph – even if Sven was a good foot taller than his new wife! We had such a good time talking about METAL! \m/ and driving around listening to Metallica. This wasn’t an act of insanity from me, these two had Nothing Else Matters as a reading! Absolutely brilliant.
