You’ll likely find me in the West End if I’m not at work in town. So I was over the moon when Terri & Nathan got in touch and asked if I wanted to photograph their wedding at Cottiers in Glasgow.
There is no other way to put it – These two are mental. In the best possible way.
I am quite an organised person, particularly on a wedding day as I want it to run smoothly for my couple. But sometimes you just have to go with the carnage – and this was one of those days.
Thankfully I had another absolutely lunatic by my side, the incredible Jason from Afterglow Wedding Films and then looking after us both like over stimulated chldren was my assistant Georgia from Forest Lace Photography.
Cottiers Wedding Photos
Like I said, the day was mental, highlights include;
- Asking the bridal party for a nice photo before I left, only for them to try and play the brides leg like a guitar and fall over.
- The brides auntie flinging a pair of pants at me (Thats why I left)
- Me having to legitimately tell Nathan to stop sticking the fingers up at me every time I took a photo – it would’ve been a long day otherwise!
- The couple forgetting the hand fasting ribbons
- The bridesmaid Anna saying she knew where it was – only to run away and come back with a mad Champagne Coup glass! Marks the Humanists face when he seen it was Priceless when he seen it.
- Nathan taking his tie off and using that for the hand fasting!
- Nathan not putting the tie back on for the rest of the day – Burst couch.
- Going to The Rock for a pint of Tennents during the couple shoot
- Nathan realising afterwards he had a pair of Tennents boxers IN HIS SPORRAN! Honestly couldn’t make it up.
- Nathan getting a tattoo of Terri’s maiden name on his leg as a surprise – Jason went along to film it!
- The most mental first dance ive ever seen in my life – it felt like New Years Eve
Even typing all that out has made me exhausted again, but honestly, what a day!

Mark Reilly | Humanist Celebrant
I want to give a special shout out to Mark Reilly AKA Mark the Humanist. Me and Mark are essentially online pals! Albeit through the wedding industry. We had chatted for years about weddings, life and food but this was the first time we met in the flesh! THANKFULLY Mark absolutely smashed it out the park. His ceremony was personal, conversational and the right level of funny without making it about himself. Most importantly, the couple loved it! Absolutely perfect. Heavy looking forward to working with this big guy again! Highly recommended.

Cottiers, 93-95 Hyndland St, Glasgow G11 5PU
Located just off Hyndland Road (Across from The Rock! The pub, not the wrestler… sadly) Cottiers is a unique and versatile venue, originally built in 1865 as Dowanhill Parish Church. It stands proudly in the heart of Glasgow’s West End,. The conversion to pub / restaurant / wedding venue has been done perfectly as it still holds a lot of the original features. Including the incredible stained glass windows of the ceremony room.
