GGs Yard Wedding Photography. One of the coolest things about being a wedding photographer is being invited to all sorts of cool venues. Especially when you’re given free rein to explore and see parts the general public wouldn’t get to see.
I think every wedding photographer has a list of venues they want to tick off their bucket list, the start of the year seen us tick off a big one at GGs Yard! (https://www.lagganlife.co.uk/)
We were invited by Fiona and Tony to document their wedding in January and it was a belter. It had all the classic hallmarks of a traditional wedding; Tables named after pizzas. A bride on a tractor. A wedding cake made out of cheese. An after-dinner game that involved a bridesmaid stealing a bra… Just the usual!
The best part, though, was that today’s celebrant was the bride’s mum! Kathleen Hood Humanist Celebrant, how amazing is that? Getting to marry your own daughter. She was crying as she was walking down the aisle and everything, unbelievable, what a day!
GGs yard is amazing, Julia and her team were fantastic and made the day an absolute breeze for the new Mr. and Mrs. Avino.
Did you know, the name comes from the owner’s very own GG, that is, their great granny! The building is dedicated to their wee granny, who by the way, still rides the zip line on a regular basis! What an absolute hero.
You can really tell there’s a lot of love put into the venue and it really helps when you’re celebrating a wedding. It was absolutely spotless top to bottom, the neatest barn-style venue we’ve ever seen!
