The team at Schottland füer Alle has often involved me in the small weddings they organise for their German couples getting married in Scotland, and I feel very lucky for these opportunities
This time my German Elopement took me to the gorgeous village of Taynuilt at the Achanasmeorach House – A luxury holiday home located in the West Highlands on Loch Awe.
No matter how often I drive from the city to the Highlands I am always blown away. Scotland is amazing, honestly. ESPECAILLY when the Sun is shining like it did for Sarah & Richard.

Arriving at Achnasmeorach House much earlier than anticipated, I was greeted by the groom, Richard.
He gave me a very cheery, “HELLO!” In excellent English, thankfully! He told me both he and the bride, Sarah, spoke fluent English. Sadly, neither of them spoke Glaswegian, so it was time to slow right down.
I said hello to Sarah and met the Celebrant, the fantastic Lesley Johnston from the Caledonian Humanist Association.
Lesley absolutely smashed the whole ceremony IN GERMAN! Though I struggle to keep up it was clear from the guests reaction that she absolutely smashed it – The love she received from the guests afterwards was only over shadowed by the love between Sarah & Richard.
These two fell in love in high school and never fell out of it! You can always tell when a couple are so comfortable with each other, it was perfect.
Some champagne down by the loch and then back up the House for some cake and it was time to eat, drink and be merry!
Such a good idea eloping to Scotland – Bringing your closest family & friends – Celebrating your special day and then showing them the beauty of Braveheart country.
