Cottiers Wedding Photography- Andrea & Michael – September

Aaaaah September, the month so beautiful that Earth, Wind & Fire sang a song about the 21st night of it!
Autumnal colours, brisk cool air, early golden hour…. None of which we got at Andrea and Michael’s wedding at Cottiers in Glasgow as it was BLOODY ROASTING!

The day started off with Michael and the lads in East Kilbride. Mostly cause the couple wanted prep photos of their wee dog (Quite Right). Michael, a man after my own heart, is also a huge fan of Buckfast (His instagram name is a homage to it!), this played a large part of the day, as it should. So it was nice to see my old green bottled friend appearing at regular internals throughout the morning.

Normally if I shoot alone I can only cover one prep, however, my wee pal Amy Wright MUA was at the girls so I had to go say hello! So glad I did cause these girls were bloody wild. I actually dont want to commit to writing what they got up to but lets just say the heat makes you unconventional things to cool down.

Then it was onto Cottiers! The ceremony was conduscted by Gerrie Douglas-Scott – Humanist Celebrant Scotland. Huge fan of Gerrie, shes as, if not more so, cheekier than me! Cracking wee ceremony and very personal too.

I edited this wedding quite dark in order to push the day towards those Autunmal vibes Andrea was looking for – Got to do what you can!

We then had the Botanic Gardens booked so after a few cold drinks we were off in the Vintage Car to the West End.

Right, no sugar coating this – The Kibble Palace was FUCKING ROASTING. So much so Andrea audibly whined “Please Gary I need to get out of here!”. Now, any of my couples will tell you, I dont rip the arse out my couple shoots. In and out, no nonsense, just natural good times. But when you’re essentially shooting inside a Sauna you have to go Guerilla and rattle as much as possible!

We then hit up their lockdown favourite Old Salty’s on Byres Road. MASSIVE Shout out to the team at Old Saltys for the complimentary drinks, really appreciate it. Got one of my favourite photos of all time at this Chippy and then back to Cottiers for speeches and dancing.

The heat didn’t stop these absolute lunatics partying hard! The Brogues Ceilidh Band got the party started and burned the house down (Pun intended). What a night.
