I never got enquiries for Cornhill Castle Hotel in Biggar, and even if I did, I never got bookings! Consequently, I thought I was jinxed until Lauren & Chris came along and asked me to photograph their December wedding.

As I’ve said before, and I’ll say it again – weddings are mental! (Which is why I love them, to be honest). One thing I’ve never really spoken about is the fact that when you book me (12 to 18 months in advance), I usually don’t see you or speak to you until the big day.

(It’s worth noting that I do send out a handy questionnaire 6 weeks before the wedding! I just like to be hands-off, as I know how much planning there is. Furthermore, my email is always open! No question is too daft!)

However, both Lauren & Chris took my advice to add me on Instagram to stay in touch, and indeed, stay in touch we did! As a result, I felt like these guys were my best pals by the time I arrived at the wedding. Therefore, I well and truly hit the ground running.

So, yes – any future couples thinking about booking me – ADD ME ON INSTAGRAM! It not only means we will be closer on the day, but also means you can watch me talking absolute nonsense on my stories.

Speaking of pals, there was another absolute who’s who of suppliers on the day too, including my very good pals Stevie from Journal Wedding Films and Mark Reilly AKA Mark the Humanist – shout out to those two gents!

The day was amazing, to be honest. The mains/secret ingredient? Lauren & Chris just enjoyed themselves! Literally all you need to do on your wedding day. Don’t worry about anyone else and just have a good time – AND THEY DID!
