Chic Glasgow City Wedding

Chic Glasgow City Wedding – Kirsty & Chris, November.

I’ve known Kirsty for about 20 years or something daft like that. We worked together in a well known supermarket when we were teenagers. So I was buzzing that even after all this time she still got in touch for her day. Kirsty and her mental sister Lesley were good pals of mine in the supermarket so I was buzzing to see them again.

It’s funny ’cause when you first start out doing weddings it’s usually for friends and family. Then it gets to the stage (if you work hard!) where most people you photograph you don’t actually know, so arguably it makes it easier. So to go back to photographing pals I was bricking it! Cause you want to do an amazing job. (Mostly cause I think either Kaye or Lesley would burst me)

All nerves were dissipated as soon as I got to Bridal prep at The Kimpton Blythswood. With Kirsty’s infectious laugh and her bridesmaids ruthlessly slagging me – It was like being with pals! Was some laugh, though! Once her Maw stopped greetin’ for the 3 millionth time it was off to 23 Montrose Street to see Chris and the boys.

You don’t need me to tell you again how much I love a wee 23 Montrose Street wedding – But with a ceremony at 3:30pm with the sun setting at 3:30pm and a registrar who loves to spin a yarn I was getting pretty stressed! However, I got the flash gun out and used that for a paparazzi style confetti shot and it worked out amazing! Kirsty said she felt like a celebrity – and so she should! Total babe.

Despite the lack of light we got some mad epic stuff, honestly such a cracking shoot in the toon with these legends.

Back to the Kimpton for Speeches and the party – but a special shout out to bumping into SAS: Who Dares Wins absolute bad ass Mark Billy Billingham and his Dug outside the venue! We actually all fussed over his Bulldog before we realised we were in the presence of an absolute hero.

And if that chance encounter doesn’t sum up the day I don’t know what does!
