So if that wasn’t enough to scare you away then please let me tell you the tale of Ellie & John who got married at Cairns Farm Estate.

I had been to Cairns Farm just once before, second shooting for another photographer. So when Ellie & John got in touch I was absolutely buzzing.

Cairns Farm Estate is as gorgeous, large, modern rustic wedding venue located in West Lothian, Scotland.

It’s an exclusive use venue with catering and accommodation too. A Farmhouse with 3 double bedrooms and then the romantic wee honeymoon hideaway known as The Keep! Very cute!

Before I say any more about this day I need to give a massive thank you to my good friend, Jason of Afterglow Wedding Films who pointed E&J in my direction, thank you, brother! The awkward thing was I was shooting Jasons wedding the week after and this was actually the first time we’d ever worked together – But thankfully there was no fighting and we we about to have one of the greatest weddings of all time.

The ever fantastic Nadine Grant Make up Artist was taking care of the girls in the morning. Can’t say enough good things about Nadine to be honest. Brings the vibes, its totally chilled out, an absolute laugh and an amazing make up artist!

Another cracking thing about Cairns Farm is you can walk between both morning preps, so thats what me and Jason did. Usually one of the preps is more chill than the other, but both of these preps were absolutely nuts – which set us up perfectly for the day!

The mood quickly changed when we got to the ceremony conducted by the fantastic Allan Kidd the Kilted Celebrant. Oor wee John became an emotional wreck! God bless him. He just loves that woman! <3

After the ceremony it was straight to the party and it didnt stop til we left. Highlights include (in no order)

• John getting a tattoo of Ellies maiden name
• One of the Groomsmen (Who will remain nameless) being moody during the formal photos – see if you can see him
• A couple shoot down by the reservoir where John tried to drive the golf buggy back
• The actual golf buggy being a death trap, but what a laugh
• Ellies Wee Granny tearing up the dance floor, putting literally everyone under her age to shame!
• Johns amazing squat pose next to his German Whip
• Ellie commandeering the farmers quad bike

Actually laughing as I typed all that out – Told you it was a wild one!

But easily one of the best. John & Ellie – THANK YOU FOREVER!
