I love the anticipation on the morning of the wedding. Mum getting all flustered, Dad pacing the floor, the boys searching youtube on how to tie a tie…
Usually I arrive a couple of hours before the ceremony to capture all the morning prep antics. Plus I like to get to know the bridesmaids or groomsmen, shake Dads hand, give Mum a hug and photograph anything that moves!
The main event! Whether you’re getting married in a big ol church, a rustic barn, a tipi or a luxury hotel, I’m there to shoot the ceremony from beginning to end.
Full disclosure, the walk down the aisle is probably my favourite part of the day – All that planning and preparation has built up to that moment – You get to see your partner for the first time that day and by the time they get to the bottom of the aisle its proper, for real wedding time!
I let the ceremony unfold as it happens and never get involved (So I’ll will never ask to do the first kiss again *shudder*). I want you to be present and soak up every minute of it – this is YOUR day! One of the best days of your life – I’m just there to capture it for your memories.
Some photographers hate them, I don’t!
Let’s be honest, no-one loves standing around for family photos but I’m famous for how quickly I get through them.
I photograph your immediate family, wedding parties and then a handful of VIPs (Grannies, Grandas, favourite Aunties, etc.) which are determined by you. I normally advise to have no more than 8 family group shots but it’s your wedding. If formal family photos are important to you then I am more than happy to get through them all, no problem!
“I hate getting my photo taken” – Then you’ve come to the right place!
The couple shoots are VERRRRY relaxed – After the ceremony I let you chill out with your guests for a bit before whisking you away and creating some magic.
I let the couples just be themselves, but most importantly, take a minute to finally be with each other (The morning of a wedding is mental!) and think “No way, we’re married!”.
I like to slow down, give you guys a chance to catch your breath and catch up with each other, then I start snapping. I will never ask you to do anything you’re uncomfortable with (So no Dirty Dancing lifts unless you request it) with the biggest focus on being relaxed and having fun.
And the best part? These couple shoots only last like 15/20 minutes. So not only will you not miss much of the party, you won’t get sick of me taking your photos – I believe that’s why our shots look to natural.
The speeches are actually my second favourite part of the day – I LOVE to hear how folk got together and what brought us to this day. There are literally billions of people in this world and you chose each other – That’s pretty special.
Whether it’s your dad having a wee moment during his father of the bride speech, or watching a groom die from embarrasment when the best man tells that awkward story… I’ll be there to capture it all. As well as the fun stuff, it makes for some beautiful moments seeing people’s reactions to words of love and admiration. It’s nice to tell people you love them – Do it every day!
Time to get your groove on!
Whether you’re having a fully fledged choreographed routine to George Michael – Freedom or just a quick shuffle round the floor for 30 seconds, I’ll be there to photograph you strut your funky stuff!
Again, I just let it happen and photograph the emotions – Whether that’s the slow appreciation moment of the first dance or the absolute carnage from then on in – I LOVE it! I am right in amongst the action, especially if it’s a ceilidh! So the more carnage the better – As the old Glasgow saying goes, H W F G!!
Photos are delivered within 2 months – But look to get them to you before if possible.
All galleries are edited in the classic Good Luck Wolf style but I like to bring in colours and elements of your own day so the photos are personal to you.
We both felt emosh as they were leaving at the end of the night and my husband told them it had been the best day of his life and they were a massive part of it. We honestly couldn’t recommend them enough.
